Summer 2010
Greetings in the name of Yeshua the Messiah-the Hope of Israel and
Savior of the world. I have just returned from Israel after completing another successful
Gospel outreach to the Chosen People. My longtime friend and faithful co-laborer in Christ,
Paul Colley, and I spent nearly three weeks in Israel boldly spreading the good news of Yeshua
the Messiah among the Jewish people. You will be reading about some of the powerful Spirit led
and Spirit anointed witnessing encounters Paul and I had with the Israelis on this trip in
future articles of our ministry newsletter, Search the Scriptures.
I wish I could say I am happy to be back in America
after such a rewarding and effective outreach in Israel, but I am not. Instead, I am deeply
grieved that many in Israel have yet to hear the Gospel and more still have yet to believe. Our
job is not done. It has barely begun. Normally I am somewhat melancholic when I leave the
Promised Land, but my mood usually lifts a few days after returning to the States. Not so this
time! Like Paul in Romans 9:2, I have a persistent heaviness and sorrow of heart for the
salvation of the Jewish people. I pray to God that the Jewish people will come to know that
Jesus is the Messiah of Israel and wants to give them abundant life in Him (John 10:10). That
is why this ministry exists.
Spreading the Gospel in Israel is totally different
from spreading the Gospel anywhere else, primarily because God Himself in the person of Jesus
came to humanity through the Jewish people, lived in Israel, ministered among the Jews, died
and rose again in Israel, and promised to return to reign from Jerusalem. God decreed this tiny
land of divine destiny to be ground zero for His end-time prophetic program that now unfolds
before us.
My heart is also heavy because during my ten years
of ministry to the Jewish people, I never so distinctly and minute-by-minute hear the voice of
God as I do in Israel. The struggles and temptations that buffet me in America disappear when I
am there. The Holy Spirit completely fills, animates and anoints us as we proclaim the Gospel
in Jerusalem, Tiberias, Mount Hermon, and other places throughout the Promised Land. My great
joy comes not only from watching ancient Biblical prophecies of Israel's miraculous modern
rebirth come alive before our very eyes but the joyous reception we receive from the majority
of the Jewish people when Jesus and the Scriptures are given back to them.
The sadness is over having to return from Israel to
see the moral decay and apostasy in this country as it grows day by day. Paul Colley and I have
seen that the Jews in Israel are more open to hear the Gospel now than most Americans are who
hear it 24/7 and yet refuse to repent. This too is another sign of the End Times
(2 Timothy 3:1-9). Sadly, few churches or ministries in America aspire to do what this ministry does. They are
missing out on the great blessing experienced by those who bring the Messiah back to His own
people (Genesis 12:3). You would think because Israel serves as a "super sign" of the end-times
these churches and ministries would be jamming the streets of Israel to share with the Jewish
people the Gospel and God's prophetic plan for Israel found in their own Scriptures.
Yet this is not the case. This ministry is among
only a few doing this very thing and we have been doing it for over a decade. Every day we
thank God for you -- the righteous remnant of believers who support us and know how terribly
important these end-time outreaches to Israel are. You help us prepare God's people for the
return of the Lord (Luke 1:17). We could not have done this without your support, and we cannot
continue to do this without your ongoing support. I tear up every time I think of what a young
Israeli girl, Naomi, emotionally said to Paul and me on the Gospel outreach we just completed
in June. Her voice represents the many in Israel who feel the hatred the world has for the Jews
and its desire to see the nation of Israel disappear.
But when she saw the love, care, prayer, and support
of Yeshua through our ministry to her, she implored us that more people like us "who believe in
the Bible must come over and share these things with all Israelis because
we love Americans who believe in God and the Bible." Please heed Naomi's appeal and support us
so we can return to Israel in October to continue our ministry. With your support we go
in the name of Jesus and you, His Church, to reflect the everlasting love He has for Israel
(Jeremiah 31:3) to proclaim that He is humbly and mercifully calling them back to
repentance and faith in Messiah Jesus. Please take the time to send us whatever financial
support the Lord lays on your heart.
